The Sushi Kit: A Great Gift For Those Sushi Lovers Out There!
Packaged with chopsticks, a rolling mat, a rice paddle and surprisingly attractive dipping bowls, this slim volume is an absolutely awesome holiday gift for any sushi fan who has always wanted to roll his own!
It contains basic recipes for favorites such as Kappa Maki (cucumber roll) and Spicy Tuna Roll, so this book does not offer much for the culinary adventurer. However, what it does provide, however, is foolproof, step-by-step instructions on how to make flawless Sushi Rice (the secret is to cool it quickly at the end, using a handheld fan) and a best-practices guide on choosing fish for sushi ("buy whole fish and fillet at home when possible," and make sure the fish has glossy scales and "bright, clear eyes").
It also provides a short but concise glossary, which clarifies the difference between ocha (green tea) and onigiri (rice ball), and definitely makes for an excellent cheat-sheet at a Japanese restaurant!
Nonetheless, the most exciting part of this package isn't really the book-it's all the neat sushi paraphernalia that comes along with it!
Overall, a great purchase for those sushi lovers!

Great gift for a friend.... and for me!
I have been looking for a sushi kit for ages, but everything that I have found so far has been over-priced. I bought this as a gift for a friend for Xmas, but now that I've had a good look at it and realise that it is exactly what I've been looking for I want to keep it for myself! Oh well, back to the "trolley."
